Adaptive Bayesian Estimation of Proficiency Level in Computerized Adaptive TestingDavid MagisKU Leuven | |
| Abstract: | Computerized adaptive testing (CAT) has received increasing interest in the past decades. In this framework items are administered differently to each examinee, leading to test differences in both items and test length. After a brief overview of this framework we discuss the issue of estimating proficiency level of the individuals under study, focusing on Bayesian approaches. We propose an adaptive adjustment of the prior distribution and we highlight the advantages of this approach in terms of bias and root mean square of error (on the basis of simulation results). |
