Signals and sentiments: Using emotional displays to predict behavior in economic bargaining gamesTimothy KetelaarNew Mexico State University | |
| Abstract: | Although facial signals of emotions are often viewed as communicating information about temporary feeling states, several researchers suggest that emotional facial expressions may also provide information about behavioral intentions (Fridlund, 1994; Ketelaar, 2004, 2006). Several empirical studies are presented which provide evidence that facial displays of emotion can be used to predict strategic behavior in economic bargaining games. |
