About me
I am a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S. in mathematics and physics with minor in theater arts), where I was an undergraduate research assistant in Nancy Kanwisher's lab. In 2009-2010 I completed a Master in Artificial Inteligence at K.U.Leuven and advanced to pursue a Ph.D. after receiving an FWO fellowship. I am currently a Ph.D. student in both Laboratory of Biological Psychology (promotor Hans Op de Beeck) and Laboratory of Experimental Psychology (co-promotor Johan Wagemans).
As a member of Methusalem project, in my research I focus on investigating the neural basis of perceptual grouping. In particular, I combine psychophysical, fMRI, and machine learning approaches to understand where and how perceptual grouping effects emerge in human visual cortex.
In addition to research, I am active in science education and outreach in my homeland, Lithuania. I am a frequent lecturer in National Student's Academy, Vilnius University, and public science events in Lithuania.
