Mental functioning and human behavior are caused by biological processes in the body and especially the brain.
Our lab investigates these biological underpinnings of many aspects of behavior and cognition, including learning, memory, perception, motivation, and emotions.
This research involves a wide range of techniques (behavioral analyses, genetic manipulations, electrophysiology, neuroimaging) and a combination of animal work (mice and rats) and human studies.
