Courses in English
Courses in English can be found here.
Courses in Dutch
Courses in Dutch can be found in the programme book of the Faculty.
When choosing courses please take into account:
- time tables and examination schedules (information available in September 2011). Overlaps in courses and/or exams are your own responsibility.
- 'previous knowledge' conditions, to be found in the syllabi of each course.
The last couple of years we have experienced quite a lot of problems with English proficiency.
Please be aware of the fact that your level of English must be ADVANCED: you must be able to understand, speak, read and write both general and academic English FLUENTLY. If your English is of a poor level, you will not succeed in most courses.
Please take your responsibility and make sure your English knowledge is good enough BEFORE arriving in Leuven. Only this way we can guarantee good quality education and make sure that all parties feel happy.
To promote English and/or Dutch proficiency the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences reimburses 1 regular English or Dutch course (not intensive courses). Languages can be included in the official programme (6 ECTS per semester) on the condition that the home university agrees.

Exam schedules for 2011-2012 will be fixed in September. Please take them into account while choosing your course programme. Make sure there is no overlap (2 exams in 1 day or at the same time) between the (written) exams in your programme.
AN IMPORTANT RULE: Erasmus students are supposed to join the regular examination sessions (January, June and September). No exceptions will be allowed, so please make sure you are in Leuven during the complete examination sessions: see Academic Calendar to know the dates of the examination periods.
Our Faculty disposes of an excellent Ombuds Service, which takes care of problems in the following situations:
- To change an examination appointment (only with a SERIOUS reason!! e.g. illness, NOT lack of study time!)
- To unregister for an exam,
- To negotiate between students and professors in case of conflicts during the exams,
- Also during the academic year you can contact them with all kinds of study related problems.
During exams you can contact them here:
Tel.: 016 32 58 45
Dekenstraat 2 - Room VHI 00.33
DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR (so not during the exam period!) there is a different Ombuds person: https://ppw.kuleuven.be/english/teaching/ombudsservice.html
