Practical information
PPWDOCT mailing list
The PPWDOCT mailing list is an easy way to distribute information among all doctoral students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. The coordinators and the administrative coordinator of the doctoral programme use this mailing list to send important information to doctoral students. This mailing list is also used to announce doctoral seminars, doctoral colloquia and other interesting seminars.
It is very important to subscribe to this mailing list at the beginning of your doctoral training/programme. It can be easily done by sending an email to the so-called listserv (by clicking the link a mail programme will be opened and thus create a new mail, directed to this listserv). Just leave the subject line open, in your mail message, you have to mention: subscribe ppwdoct first name last name.
If you want to unsubscribe, send a new mail to the listserv, and mention the following message: unsubscribe ppwdoct first name last name.
Financial Support
During your doctoral programme period you will have to make several expenses. For example, the costs for taking part in an international congress (transport, accommodation, registration fees), the costs for printing your doctoral thesis, etc. There are several ways to receive partial reimbursement for these expenses, hereby the most important financial support:
-
Faculty contribution for students of the doctoral training.
After receiving your doctoral degree, the Faculty can partially reimburse the expenses made during the doctoral process, on the condition that you have followed the doctoral training. Possible costs are: printing costs doctoral thesis, copies, travel and congress costs, purchase of books, computer materials, costs for the reception, registration fee, etc.
To receive the contribution you have to make an expense claim through KULoket (Personeelslid - Beroepskosten). The completed claim must be sent, electronically, to Ms. Brigitte Smets. Next, you have to submit a printed copy of the expenses form, together with all (original !!) vouchers to her. For the moment, the amount of the faculty contribution is maximum €750.
Attention: doctoral students who were exempted from the doctoral training, can not get this reimbursement!!
-
Travel funds RFF (Research Foundation Flanders-FWO).
Financial Support only for RFF-candidates. Reimbursement for travel costs for congresses in Europe (for doctoral students and post-doctoral students) or outside Europe (only for post-doctoral students). The procedure for the application is rather time-consuming (and must be done at least 3 months before the departure). There is, furthermore, no guarantee that your application will be accepted. After the congress, you must send an activity report to the RFF. more information -
