The Methodology of Educational Sciences Research Group conducts research in the broad field of methodology and statistics for educational research.

With respect to methodology, we focus on quality- and reporting criteria for qualitative and mixed-methods research designs and on methods for the synthesis of scientific insights from quantitative and qualitative research reports/articles.

With respect to statistics, current research interests include multilevel and multiway analysis, cluster analysis, meta-analysis, single case designs, and nonparametric statistics. Particular attention is paid to the applicability of these techniques in educational research.

Moreover, the centre is responsible for teaching courses on methods and statistics in the educational sciences, as well as for offering methodological and statistical advice to other members of the department.
