LAPP
is an organization that already exists for over 50 years. In the past, the best known realizations used to be the organizing of seminars and the printing of the 'Leuvens Bulletin LAPP'. This magazine as primarily a way to offer branch specific literature to the alumni. Though as years went by, change began to take us. A lot of alumni ended up in completely different workplaces and seminars and literature became abundant. LAPP needed to do some serious reflecting on how to redirect itself.

The first turn came in 2006 under the rule of Mr. Paul Van Deun with the startup of APPeL. This fresh magazine with short articles and a clean layout gave pleasant reading to the alumni. Not only news regarding the faculty could be found, but also interviews with other alumni and reports on scientific evolutions. In addition, there also was special attention to everyday practices. The 'Faculty Day' in March 2007, was such an example: the first renewed seminar.

In 2010 a new team under the rule of Jana Deprez continues this momentum. A major change is that LAPP from December 9, 2009 on is known as LAPP vzw, an organization without lucrative purposes. This offers the organization a load of possibilities to extend our offerings and is bound to create a more transparent organizational structure. APPeL undergoes a change as well: instead of appearing three times a year, we have opted for only two releases. These will nevertheless be more substantial. With these changes we hope to meet everyone's liking: for those who have graduated already a long time ago, as well for those who recently became alumni.
